Our Mission

West Suburban Tennis Patrons, Inc. (WSTP) is an IRS 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1990 to give youth a positive alternative to drugs, gangs, and other negative activities. Our mission is to implement programming to enhance disadvantaged youth, helping them to develop an appreciation of tennis and view the sport as a viable option to improve their overall quality of life.

WSTP sponsors, promotes, and hosts year-round tennis-related activities primarily for youth aged 10 to 17. We serve participants from Bellwood, Berkeley, Broadview, Elmwood Park, Forest Park, Hillside, Maywood, Melrose Park, Oak Park, Riverside, Westchester, and other near west suburbs. Our organization aims to have continuous interaction with local youth particularly during the summer months when the pressures and negative influences of their communities have the most impact. In the addition to the summer program, WSTP offers an indoor program in the winter and spring, along with other activities in the fall.

Our program has given children the needed encouragement, discipline, instruction and fellowship to help them to achieve their potential and develop their talents. Children interact not only with youth of various backgrounds through competition and social events, but they also are instructed by individuals from their communities. Since the future belongs to today's youth, WSTP is determined to do its part by "building character in youth through tennis"!
